Pro Kids | The First Tee of San Diego is a 501 charitable organization founded in 1994 by former NFL player Ernie Wright. Pro Kids’ mission is to challenge underserved youth to excel in life by promoting character development, life skills, and values through education and the game of golf. Pro Kids serves more than 1,800 youth, ages 7-17, as a welcoming home each year to kids across San Diego County. Its two primary program locations are in City Heights and Oceanside – both San Diego communities marked by poverty, gang violence, and poor high school graduation rates.
In 2016, the organization held its first Women’s Golf Tournament, and San Diego-based Carini Heating and Air Conditioning lead the fundraising effort as the event’s primary sponsor. In early 2017, Carini stepped up its financial and corporate contribution and the event was renamed the Carini Women’s Tournament at Pro Kids of San Diego. The event will be held on December 3, 2017 at the Pro Kids | The First Tee San Diego golf course in the City Heights neighborhood.
Carini Heating and Air is also the Main Sponsor of the New Pro Kids Competitive Team, an Official Team of the Jr. PGA League.
