If you’re a San Diego home or business owner with a Rheem water heater, there is a variety of useful information located on the Rheem water heating product label. If you ever need to call us to evaluate a repair or discuss installation of a Rheem water heater, you probably want to start with the age of the system.
Here’s an example of a Rheem water heater ten digit serial number and what each digit means:
Serial Number 12 09 D 01234
In this example,”12″ means the month manufactured – December. “09” indicates the year manufactured – 2009. Rheem’s headquarters are in Atlanta, GA, with manufacturing plants in Fort Smith, Montgomery, AL; Oxnard, CA; and Egan, MN for the United States; a plant in Quebec for Canada; and a plant in Mexico.
Consider that Rheem has three primary water heater models that we sell, install and service in San Diego: Tank, tankless and heat pump/hybrid. On all models, the serial number on all Rheem water heating product rating labels use ten (10) digits, and are located as follows in the images below:
Rheem tankless water heaters place the serial number in the inside of the heater body on the right side.
Serial number plates for Rheem heat pump water heaters are located on a label on the upper left side of the system.
